LATEST NEWS.
LOxDON, August 16.-In consequence of
a misunderstanding between the Khedive
and his Ministry, the former has summ
moned a new Cabinet.
The Porte have submitted a proposal
that the British shall remain in their pre
sent positions, the 'urks operating alone,
and that the forces of both powersshallbe
withdrawn, when the pacification of the
country shall be accomplished.
Lord Dufferin demands that the British
control shall be preserved.
The Sultan's acquiesence in the terms
,proposed by the Convention, is highly im
probable.
Sir Garnet Wolsely has promised to pro
tect the property, and respect the religion
of the native population.
At a Council of War held yesterday, all
the Generals commanding divisions of the
brigrades were present. It was resulted
that an attack be made on Aboukir forts,
'the otroops to be landed there, then march
to the vicinity of Kafradowar, Arabi's
strnghold.
