SUM.MONSi COURT.
Captain Morrison, master of the B.R. ship
Celtic Monarch, was sued on an information
in which he was charged with having dis.
charged loading without using a tarpaulin or
such other contrivance as effectually to pre
vent any part of the loading from falling into
navigable waters.
Defendant pleaded guilty, and said that his
chief officer had overlooked the matter in his
hurry to get discharged.
The Bench remarked that the defendant
was liable to a penalty of £50 for this breach
of the regulations. A fine of £3, with 5S 6d
costs, in default seven days' imprisonment,
was inflicted.
