COMBERLAND DISEASE.
.OCitmberland disease in a serious form has
broken out in the Longford, Gressy, and
Fingal distriots. Healthy looking sheep die
in a few minutes, and decompose immediately.
The disease is spreading rapidly. It is sup.
posed to have been introduced by imported
storo sheep.
AN OLD COLONIST GONE.
John King, warden of Hamilton for the
vast 20 years, died on Baturday from paralysis.
Deceased came td Hobart in 1842, L'o was
the son of Captain King, quartermaster of
the 42nd Righlanders, and was born in
Dundee barracks, Ireland, in 1820, his early
days being spene with the regiment at Malta
and other stations.
