NO RTHUMBERLAND BANKING
COMPANY.
IN our advertising columns is published the
psospectus of the Northumberland Banking
Company, Limited, which is being formed
to take over tile banking and financial busi
ness which has for some time past been con
ducted by Mr. G. S. HIadfield, of this city.
It is proposed to float the company with a
capital of £50,000 in £L shares, of which a
first issue of 20,000 shares is to be placed oa
the market at once, and the remaining onea
not to be offered until the first issue has
reached a premium. The head office of tile
oompany is at 28 Hunter-street, and a
branch has been established at West Mait
land, while it is proposed to open an
other one shortly at Wallsend. The com
pany will transact all customary banking
business, make advances on approved
securities, discount bills, receive deposits,:and
open current accounts to be operated upon
by cheques, and for which interest is allowed
on the daily balance. A list of the dividend.
paid by other financial institutions is pub
lished in the prospectus. The present
general manager and founder of the business,
Mr 0.G. 8. Hadfield, has agreed to continue
as managing director for the company.
