TERALIA.
A meeting of the progress committee
was held In ,the school of arts, Teralba,
on Monday night, Mr. Heydon in the chair.
It weas resolved that at letter of condo
lence be sent to' Mrs. Hindley on the
doath of her husband, who had been pre
sldent of the committee .for about 15
Years. A ?letter was received from the
Postnastter-General, stating that there
was only, on an average, 78 letters and
10 papers delivered daily, and the re
qulred number being not less thani 150, a
delivery could not be made. A letter was
received from the Railway Commissioners,
stating that appiroval had been given for
the provtsion of a workmen's train from
Toronto to Newcastle. '!The secretary wos
instructed to write to the shire council,
drawing attention to 'the state of the
bridge near the police station, and of
Pitt-street, and the intersection of Rail
way-street and Rhondda-road. A request
also 'to be made that tenders be called
for a bridge over Five Islands.
