bell and 'Sons) conjoint report "In . to-day's
market, 1,830 wen penned, comprising 5T0 bacon
em, 600 sporkers, 200 6toreg, remainder weightier
sorts. Stores.—Although the market Was moderately
supplied, yet biddings were slack, and prices in
favour of buyers. Porkere.—For prime medium
and light-weights there was a steady demand, at
slightly improved rates, while heavy-weights were
in dull request, at about former quotations. Bacon
ears.—In this division, opening sales were without
animation, bnt as sales progressed competition
gradually improved, prices Tiirdening to advanced
rates, closing firm. Backfatters.—There were very
few buyers for this claas ot heavy-weights, and sales
were effected at comparatively low figures. Quota
tions, with approximate number of each grade:—
Backfatters.—A few efctra heavy prime fats, from
65/ to 87/0; bulk weighty sorts, from 50/ to'60/;
few rough, from 45/. Baconers.—About 270 extra
prime weights, from 46/ to 51/; about 150, from
42/ to 45/; 150 light «nd intermediate, from 88/.
Porkers.—About 180 extra prime heavy, from 8C/
to 88/; about 220 prime, from 81/ to 35/; about 160
liglit-weights, from 28/ to 30/; few small, from 25/.
Stores.—About EO, from 23/ to 29/; 50 seconds, from
19/ to 22/; CO slips, from 14/ to 17/; 20 suckers,
from 10/ to 13/."
