BOUND ABOUT FLEMINGTON.
Br OUB BESIDEKT CORRESPONDENT.'
| The welcome Jail of rain on the previous
afternoon was just sufficient to make the
tracks good going on Tuesday, when the
air was considerably cooler than it has been
for some time past. Not much interest at
tached to the work, for though more horses
than usual were present not many of them
were required to do much in the way of
galloping. Scientist went a couple of miles
at half-pace, Trent was striding along, and
Decided spurted half a mile on the tan. Mol
lusc had a couple of spurts over three fur
longs on the tan, the first occupying 401sec.
The Gaiety Girl did useful work, and The
Merry Prince did three miles on the tan,
improving the pace as he went on. The
Endeavour did useful work, and Scutum
and The Toiler followed suit. M'Guinness,
who looks all the better for his run at Wil
liamstown, went four miles on the tan
steadily, and Prospector ran an even-time
mile ana a quarter. Ambition did stnding
work, and Stopwatch half paced. The Scout
moved nicely during a journey over a couple
of miles at an even-time pace, and Spring
bank was given a similar task. Loyal ran
seven furlongs on the tan in lmin. 42eec.
Postscript was extended for a mile and
three furlongs in 2min. 321eec. Merrang
and Paul Jones ran half a mile in 55sec.,
and Busiris did good striding work. Buly
Manton did an even-time seven furlongs on
the tan, and Tri d'Or' cantered. Sheridan
was striding, along, and so was Flagship,
while Sir Peter Teazle went along strongly,
and ran his last five furlongs in lmin. 13sec.
A.M.-B. went about a mile and a half in
even time, and Courtesy was going at her
ease for a mile and_ a quarter
in 2min.- 27sec. Rohallion cantered,
and Hurricane was half _ pacing.
Battersea and Fame ran a mile in lmin.
59sec. Quo Vadis was half-pacing. Gren
ville (Barbour), Diana (Cosgrove), arid Iron
Duke (J. Smith) schooled over hurdles, the
last-named coming a regular purler at the
fifth flight. Luckily, his rider was not hurt,
but the gelding was very lame on leaving
the course. Pierrot, Loddon, Syringa,
Sweet Po^y,. Le.Progres, and Landrost all
di useful .pacing, and the Fenella B. geld
ing (Fox) andringal (Balderson) jumped
hurdles. Hasty Locke went three miles on
the-tan, the last at a useful pace. Clare
was striding along. Burrancer ran half a
mile on the tan in 59sec., and Balmoral
went a furlong further in lmin. 15sec., Re
vanche joining in for the last three furlongs
in 42£seC. Wingaroon was striding along,
and so wbb Vulcano. Blitz II. (M. Glen
non) and Amberite (J. Swift) schooled over
hurdles, and various useful tasks were done
by Lanagraf, Nebraska, Etang, Cynic, King
fisher, Marjorie, and others.
The Western district horses, Transport
and Capeweed, are now being trained here
by A. Williams.
J. Gripps has got Hazel Nut in work
again.
Patronus, who has been spelling for some
weeks, is back again on the tracks. _
During the past few days, the scraping
sheds have been cleaned out, new tan laid
down, and the tracks generally put in order
for the winter.
A. Williams has now got the hunter Why
Not in his stable.
H. Harrison has come up from Camper
down with the Messrs. Manifold's horses,
Monica, Sindhia, White Crest, Gnarpurt,
and Airlie, and Castanos will join them in a
few days. This is nothing like as powerful
a team as Harrison has had in pasr
seasons, and they will need some placing to
pay their way. Burghos, it appears, has
been retired from the turf, and will in fu
ture do dutv in harness, while Peel, the
brother to Holkar and Mysore, has been
turned out for a spell.
Walter Hickenbotham lias returned from
his successful trip to Adelaide with Sport
Royal, Step Out, and Florfn. J. Lynch is
also back, from the 6ame place, with Un
decided and Staple, who both failed to run
up to their best form.
There was quite a touch of winter about
Thursday morning, and as the tracks were
rather dead going, the-conditions were gene
rally against good time making, and there
was not a great amount of galloping. H.
Harrison's lot did useful pacing. Decided,
who appears to lie on- the improve, did
pretty well in running half a mile on the
tan in 54sec., and Cornerman was 4l6ec. in
furlong less. The Gaiety Girl and
";-ince did a good working gfil
rlongs on the tan, the last
der even time. Mollusc

in 40sec., smart goin^, asj
ight (Martin Glennon) on

521 sec. Billy Man ton ran
seven furlongs * of a mile

and Tri d'Or stretched out for nine fur
longs, also on the tan, in 2min. 7sec.
M'Guinnegs did useful pace work only.and
Equity and Transport followed suit. Mer*
riang befit Paul Jones over ltalf a mile in
54see., and Fireaivay ran the same distance
half a secqnd faster. Blood Rose took j
" " nongs, at
lmin. 74sec. to get over five furlongs, and
Malagasy went a couple of time's round Tthe
sand fit A useful pace. Sir Peter Teazle
Iron Duke, who appears to have quickly.re^,
covered from hie faH .on Tuesday, did good
pacing, and Diana had a useful tfisk.
Syringa, Loddon, Landrost, Grcpvjlle, Fin?
gal, and others of Frew's team were iialfr
pacing, wlule Quo Yadie, who is still
scratchy in action, ran a mile on the tan
