LT¶HE Visit of the HON. GEO. H. REID to Hamilton is causing great excitement in
Newcastle and the surrounding districts, but the overpowering motive which Impelled
the Premier to finally oocept the invitation of the Hamlltonians is not generally known. We
wish to state that meeb likely it was the desire to visit the Leading Draper and Clothier in
Newcastle, who is, as everyone knows, D. MARKS, of 207 lnuuter.street West, and whose
fame for selling the Beot of Goods at the Lowest Prices has spread far end wide. The
Premier will undoubtedly make some purchases when he gratifies his desiro, and will thereby
save money. However some people may differ from H-r. Ricd politlcally, they cannot but
admire him for his prudence and foresight in doing such a sensible thing, and perforce must
follow in his footstepe.
D. MARKS, the People's Draper and Clothier, sells everything necessary in Household
Drapery, Clothing, &e., &c., and whether you come with the humble bawboo or the untold
gold, equal courtesy and a desire to please will be shown to you at
207 HUNTER-STREET WEST (OPPOSITE CARRINGTON BRIDGE).
