CONFERENCE WAITI1G FOR NEWYS
SYDNEY, Sunday.
The combined union conference to de
cide the local attitude, waited uttil nina
o'clock last night, hoping to get detllto
informaltion from New Zealand, but no
thing came to hand, auI the conferenceo
odjourned until Monday morning.
Mr. Grayndler, general secretary to the
Australian Worketrs' Union, who is the
conference chairman, said that earlier In
the day a cable message had been receiv
ed from New Zealand, stating that the
Federation of Labour and the seamen
were conferring, and that though no de
finite conclusion had been reached, it was
expected that a message wouldl be sent
later in the day, bht it did not come to
hand. It had been expected that it
would be of "great Importance," and, said
Mr. Grayndler, "It might mean somethinog
bigger than we have hae ld up to the pre
sent."
