WARATAH GOLF CLUB

The a0ii.l' meeting :of l: hil Waratah
Golf Club was held' at the club house at
Cockle Creck on Saturday.
SThe President, Mr. W. E. Alexander, in
moving the adoption-of the annual report
and balance sheet, expressed satisfaction
at the large attendance ot members' and
associates, and hoped that the interest
displayed would continue during the year.
In'view of the club's strenuous year, iwhich
lihad been accentuated by extraordinarily
adverse wealther conditions, there. was a
certain amount of pleaiiure in: the fact
tlrnt.the club'had been maintained in such
a, splendid condition, within. the limit of
the revenue received. Enthusiasm on the
'part of members had improved consider
ably luri'ing irecent months, and it was

proved,"especially lduiing the past six
nmonths,: and tli advilantage was reflected
in the splendid scores returned by play
crs in recent competitions.
The club was most unfortunate during
the year to lose its professional, Mr. A.
C. Whiteman, who died after a severe
illness. The conmmittee was most fortunate
in its choice of a successor. Mr. A. B.
Catriri, .lio, by his niethods, had the
course in splendid order. .
The .President. expressed his apprecia
tion of the loyal and harmonious support
of the oiitgoing committee, the efficient
services of the ground staff and care
takers. Mr.'and. Mrs. J.. Smith. He was
sanginc that', .wit the support of an
enthusiastic and industrious conmmittee,
the club wouil increase in popularity and
membership, and the course would be
comparable withll the best in New South
Wales. He looked forward to a happy
vear of progress, at a minimum ,of ex
penditure. - "
