Parlour Coach
In Use Soon
The parlour coach would be
on the road as part of the
ambulance service on June 12,
the President of Newcastle
Ambulance Committee (Ald.
Armstrong) said yesterday.
The committee believed it
was the only one of its kind
in the world operated by an
ambulance service.
He had inspected progress
with the coach in Sydney last
week.
The coach was designed to
hold 15 people and two seats
were fitted so they could be
eased back to form stretchers.
It would carry discharged
patients to their homes and
take re-dressing cases to the
hospitals.
II vasa estimated that the
coach woutd release four am
bulances each day for other
more important duties.
