Learn-To-Swim
Campaigni
Starts Sunday
The learn-to-swim (free) campaign in
.Newcastle wil began at the Ocean
Baths at 10.30 S.m. on Sunday.
More than 12 members of Premiera
Amateur Swimming Club will act as
instructors.
It is part of a State-wide campaign
to teach people to swim. Any person,
from five to 70, who cannot swim, will
be given instruction.
Members of Premser Club put more
than 70 people of all ages through
the course last year. They were suc
cessful with every candidate.
The Treasurer (Mr. H. Dingle) said
last night the club hoped to increase.
the number of candidates this year.
Heacdmaster's Offer
The Headmaster of Newcastle Sec
ondary Jtnior Technical High School
(Mr. R. Stove) said last night that he
would cooperate with the instructors.
"Any boy wishing to learn, if he
notifies me, will be allowed to attend
the classes in school time," he said.
"It is essential that every boy should
learn to swim. This is an excellent op
portunity to learn under qualified in
structors."
