Under this head we acknowledge and notice
letters of correspondents whose communica-
tions through want of space or other reasons
cannot be published in full.
W. N. Earnshaw writes that in Court
of Requests case Gilligan v. Earnshaw,
judgment was not given for plaintiff but
for defendant; each party to pay his own
coats.
L, Simmons objects to value put on some of
the Zeehan and Dundas prizes in V.D.L,
Bank Lottery.
Observer complains of rampant poaching
for salmon with nets in the River Huon, and
says that the law is defied.
J. LYNE explains, in reference to certain
remarks made by Captain Miles at a meet-
ing of electors at Swansea on the 25th ult.,
that he, Mr. Lyne, has been over the
country north of Bicheno many times within
the last 15 years, and the last time no
further back than January of the present
year.
