Sale of the
Century
loses Delvene
Delaney
MELBOURNE: Delvene Delaney
has quit television and 'Sale of the
Century' after more than three years
with the show.
"For the next six months I will be
embarking on a new career as a gar-
dener, a husband pamperer and a
mother," she said.
Her husband is John Cornell,
known to most as "Strop" and as
comedian Paul Hogan's partner.
Mr Hogan and Mr Cornell are com-
pleting work on their first feature
film, 'Crocodile Dundee', in New
York. They have been there for the
past six weeks.
Yesterday, Ms Delaney completed
her last recording of the game show.
She has been involved with 713 edi-
tions. She said she planned to take a
six-month break from television and
then might become involved in prod-
uction.
Yesterday was the last recording
day for 'Sale of the Century' for 1985.
The last of Ms Delaney's appearances
on the show will go to air at the end
of November.
Next year, the Nine Network plans
a revamp of the program which will
include a new hostess.
