Good odds to
win new Laser
The chances of winning a new
model Ford Laser GL in The Can
berra Times Family Fun Run on
Sunday were about one in 6,000 —
greater odds than in most lotteries,
run organiser Mr Ron Ranee said
yesterday.
All entrants who had paid the $2
entry fee would be eligible to win the
car, valued at $10,392, if they com
pleted the 9.8 kilometres in under 90
minutes.
Late entrants, who could register at
Phillip College after 8 o'clock on the
morning of the run, would also be
eligible. The draw will be made at
11.30am in Commmonwealth Park
by Mr Brian Pollock, the managing
director of Brian Pollock Motors,
donor of the car.
Because the prize Laser model will
not be released until October 24, the
winner will have to wait until then to
collect it. The prize includes all on
road costs, including third-party in
surance and stamp duty, and will
include cloth trim, laminated screen,
tinted glass, rear-window demistcr
and wiper, and a radio.
For some, fun-running is a serious
matter. — Page 22
