BOOKMAKING
CASE ADJOURNED
The hearing of a charge against
Frank Ernest Fergusson, unem
ployed, of Margaret street, Nor
wood, alleging that he unlawfully
carried on business as a bookmaker
at Norwood on July 27, was ad
journed until August 22 by Messrs.
,S. L. Cosgrove and V. R. Nimma
in the Norwood Police Court to
day.
The prosecutor (Sergeant S.
Stewart) said Mr. K. V. McEntee,
who would appear for Fergusson,
had advised him that he desired
the adjournment.
Sgt. Stewart said he had ar
ranged for Mr. Gillespie, S.M., to
hear the case.
An officer from the Crown Law
Department would appear for the
prosecution, as he (the sergeant)
would be a witness.
Reginald Keegan, 28, laborer, of
Cairns street, Norwood, was fined
£2 with 7/6 costs by Messrs. S. L.
Cosgrove and V. R. Nimmo in the
Norwood Police Court today for
having behaved indecently in
Cairns street, Norwood, on Satur
day, and £3 without costs for
havine been drunk on the sanve
occasion.
