he will take the field. He ihas been a

many years. He has by no means outlived
his usefulness.

C. Sharp states that an ankie which
he injured last year is improving. He is
anxious to ilay this season. If the joint
becomes sound he will take the field.

Norman Barron and Gordon Scrutton,
the brilliant Sturt rovers, will play this
season. Although the absence of Lance
Leak will be felt. Sturt are fortunate in
having two such capable scouts.
It is not known whether G. V'. Donnelly
will return to South Australia this season.
Donnelly learned his football with Sturt.
lie would be a valuable acquisition to
the team.

There is still uncertainty regarding the
intention of R. HI. \Whitehead. The Sturt
,uckman is living at Glenelg. The seaside
club hopes to secure his services. White
Ilead said this week that hlie had made
no decision yet.

It was recently stated that WV. 3Mayman,
a former captain of Sturt. intended to
return to South Aunstralia. A letter lhas
been received from him, however, stiting
that hlie has decided to remain in Tas
mania. Mayman mnientionedl in the letter
that he has retired fronm the gamne.

Two promising ruekmen n:are now living
in the Unlev d?istrict. They will be in
vitedl to train with Sturt.. One hails from
Broken Hill, where he had a good repu
tation,. and the otlhecr comes from the
count-y.
