SPEEDWAY .ROYAL
Championship Tomorrow Night
S;KILLED RIDERS QUALIFY
The result of the Australian speed
championship for machines of 3Vs horse
power, the semi-finals and finals of which
will be decided at Speedway Royal on
Saturday, are anticipated, with interest.
Leading Australian riders have qualified
for the events. Paddy Dean, Tommy Ben
stead, and Jock Hollis will represent New
South lWales, arid Harry Mangham of New
e:aland will strive for the honor for his
Dominion.
South Australians who will be seen in ac
tion in the championship events are Jack
Chapman and Frank Duckett, both of
whom are in excellent form.
In addition to the winners of the semi
finals the second man who establishes
fastest time will take part in the final.
An excellent programme has been ar
ranged. Twenty-four riders have been
selected for the A Grade Handicap, and
12 of the fastest speedmen will contest
the Gold Sash Scratch Race.' Special ar
rangements have been made for the park
ing, of motor cars, which may enter the
grounds from Park terrace or Goodwood
road. The charge for cars is 1/.
Ordinary admission. prices will be charged.
Seats may be reserved at Allan's, Rundle
street.
