UNLEY QUARRY REPORT .
Water Supply Affected
According to the quarry report pre
sented at the meeting of Unley (Cuncil
last ight, 906 tons of material Wvas dis
patched to wards and three tons jof lillings
sold during the last fortnight.
The long, dry spell has seriously affected
the water supply in the creek, a.l much
time and labor is necessary to ensure -re
quirements. A fairly large quantity of
surface soil has come on to the top of the
quarry face in t~wo places, and is being
stripped. Excavation so that the truck
lines can be brought closer to the quarry
face is almost completed. Average daily
output a man on production was 6', tons.
, Quarries Limited has advised the coun
cil that it is prepared to extend the
period of the existing contract for cartage
of metal from the corporation quarry to
November 30.
Prices. charged wards and works for
nmiterials supplied fronm the quarry are to
be reduced 1/ a ton on rates of last year.
