Melboirnide on Monday morning..
On Tuesday evening His Excellency and
the' Hon.: Lady Hore-Ruthven will take
part in the armistice night service in the
town hall organised by the Returned
Sailors and Soldiers' Imperial League.
On Thursday His Excellency will pre
side; at the League of Nations gathering
at th AulstraIian Natives' Hall, and the
Hon. Lady' Hore-Ruthven will. present-the
prizes won in this year's League .of Na
tions school essays competitions.
His Excellency will be present at the
opening demonstration .of .the- Royal
Yacht Squadron on Saturday afternoon.
The Hon. Lady Hore-Ruthven will open
the annual fete of: the Adelaide Hospital
Auxiliary on the Adelaide Hospital
grounds.on Saturday afternoo-'.
In the evening His Excellency and Lady
Hore-Ruthven will be present at the per
formance of the.South Australian Ope
ratic Society. .
Senator J. J. Daly (Vice-President. of
Federal Executive Council and Acting At
torney-General) left this afternoon on
the return journey to Canberra.
Mr. F. H. Wells, (formerly Registrar of
Motor Vehicles), who is an inmate of
Parkwynd Hospital, Wakefield street, Ade
laide, was reported today to be in a
serious condition.
Prof. L. F. Giblin, M.A. (Ritchie pro
fessor of economics at the University of
Melbourne), in company with Mr. Sidney
Crawford, today v-isited the vinegrowing
areas at Augaston.
Dr. A. E. V. Richardson (director of
Waite .Agricultural Research Institute) re
tirnmed this morning from Melbourne,
where he attended a meeting of the Com
monwealth Council for Scientific and In;
dustrial Research.
Col. . W. A:. Harrison, retired officer of
the Royal Eingineers, is travelling with his
wife. on the - Cathay which- berthed at
Outer Harbor this morning. 'They are re
turning to,their home in Sydney after a
visit to relatives in England.'
Mr. A. H. Taylor, sharebroker, of Ade
laide, returned' on the Cathay which
reached Outer .Harbor. this morning. To
gether with his-wife, he spent 'a- holiday
of seven months in. Britain and the
United States of America.
Right .Rev. Dr. J. S. Hart (Bishop of
Wangaratta) is a passenger on the Cathay,
which reached Outer Harbor this morning
from London. He attended the Lambeth
Conference.. He is= accompanied by his
wife arid sn. -
