Merinos in Active Demand
VALUES MAINTAINED
LONDON, February 4.
Offerings at the London wool sales to
day aggregated 10,400 bales, including
7,600 bales of Australian merinos. Active
buying ruled, 'and recent values were
firmly maintained.
Victorian greasy, J in circle, realised
18%d. a lb.; greasy comebacks, marked
IE/Benara, 17d., and crossbreds of the
same clip brought 17d. a Ilb. New South
Wales, WHW/Newholme, greasy comb
ing made 18d., Western Australian
greasy, Mdiddalava, 13d., and' several bales
of finer grade marked .Mionrove. 15d. a
lb.
Best scoured wool, marked WDW/Men
tone; combing, sold at 25½d., and cloth
ing sorts 27d. a lb. Best New Zealand
greasy crossbreds brought 14%d., and fine
slipe crossbreds lambs, 16d. a lb.
