SHEEP FIRM
Lambs Few and Poor
Inr spite of the heat the sheep market
was fairly firm at Abattoirs today, but
'the rise of last week was not maintained.
There were 12,300 sheep penned, an in
crease of 3,300.
It was a good selection, mostly wethers,
but with ewes a little more plentiful than
usual. Owing to the weather curtailing
retail output the demand was restricted.
Values showed a decrease on the rate last
week.
Lambs were few--6,000 being penned
and mostly poor in quality. Although good
quality lambs sold well at satisfactory
prices they were limited to some extent
by the graziers' enquiry. ::::
