STADIUM BAN
ON ALABAMA
AND RICHARDS
SYDNEY.-Stadiums Ltd., which
controls leading stadiums in Syd
ney, Melbourne, and Briobane, will
not promote any more fights for
Ron Richards or Alabama Kid.
This action follows the recent
contest in Melbourne, which
was declared "no fight" by Referee
Jack Carroll.
Both fighters will be deprived of
their share of the takings (£350
each), which the Melbourne direc
tors decided should go to charity.
Alabama's manager (Harry
Johns) has taken out an injunction
against Melbourne Stadiums Ltd.,
and Richards' manager (Jack
Munro) promises to take similar
action.
Richards was to have met Moha.
med Fahmy. the Egyptian middle
weight, in Sydney next Mon
day, but Stadiums Ltd. has now
substituted Alan Westbury for
Richards.
