! MR. HOGGINS.
Mr. C. D. Hoggins addressed a gather-
ing of electors at the Fish Market on Tuesday
afternoon, when he reiterated the
views to which he had previously given expression,
and at the conclusion of his
address was accorded a vote of confidence.
In the evening Mr. Hoggins addressed a
meeting at the Mechanics'-hall. Mr. G.
Meredith presided. Mr. Hoggins gave a
comprehensive account of his actions while
in' Parliament, and expressed his willingness
to assist with legislation of a progressive
character. He was prepared to
support the present Ministry, as he believed
they were acting fairly towards the
colony.
Several electors spoke in favour of Mr.
Higgins's candidature, after which the
usual vote was carried.
