7 to vie for
Labor seat
ADELAIDE: Seven candidates,
including six union officials and a
former MP, have nominated for
ALP pre-selection for the scat of
Ross Smith in the South Australian
Parliament, the scat held by former
Premier John Bannon since 1977.
Heading the list yesterday was
Labor Party state president Ralph
Clarke, secretary of the Federated
Clerks Union and a member of the
Centre Left faction.
Other candidates to nominate
were Paul Dunstan, son of former
premier Don Dunstan, Mark But
ler, Gary Collis and Kevin Purse.
