A DAMAGING LETTER
A enowBall letter is in circulation all
over the world which is doing harm to
the national and beneficent work of these
homes. The letter was started by Miss
Hobertfion. of The Square, Kenilworth, in
all kindness, but without consulting the
hacMG. Kicce Dr. Esmaido's desthi
someone has altered the wording eo that;
the leiier now indicates that the work is
being carried on by "the executors, and ,
that {he doors are likely to be closed if
funds are not epeedfiy forthcoming.
These statements are erroneous and mis
leading, for the homes are incorporated,
and are managed by a council, and far
from £5e doors being closed they are as
wide open as ever all over the kingdom;
68,050 children have besn rescued, train
ed, and placed out in life in 42£ years.
The family is now larger than ever, num
bemyr 8391 boys and girls—the largest
family in the world- The admissions last
year were 2518, and many other helpless
little ones, including those who are sick,
crippled, and incurable, are being re
ceived "daily through the various ever
