RMC extensions
The instruction block and cadets'
mess at RMC Duntroon will be ex
tended at a cost of $4.8 million. The
college is taking over the role of the
Officer Cadet School at Portsea, Vic
toria, and also is to provide a year's
training for Army graduates from the
Australian Defence Force Academy.
Naval appoinments
Commodore Ian Crawford, the di
rector general of the naval supply
division at Navy Office, Canberra,
has been promoted to rear admiral
and appointed chief of supply for the
central supply and support organisa
tion of the Department pf Defence.
His replacement in the Navy supply
division will be Commodore Don
Coulson.
Burra Road death
A 70-year-old Queanbcyan man
died yesterday afternoon after his
sedan collided with a truck at the
intersection of Burra Road and the
old Cooma Road, 13 kilometres south
of Queanbeyan, near Googong Dam.
Woden carpark
Tenders for construction of a
carpark bounded by Hindmarsh
Drive and Callam and Easty Streets,
Woden Town Centre (across Callam
St from the Southern Cross Club) to
provide for 380 cars, were called yes
terday by the NCDC, which said it
could be in use in May.

Accidents
Canberra police reported 18 road
