Some employees of the
Department of Defence
are confused at an offi
cial attempt to eliminate
confusion over the iden
tification of buildings in
the Defence complex.
Apparently the depart
ment itself has been con
fused by the services'
practice of identifying
their particular buildings
with the standard number
< !np system based on . the
. original. master plan for
- total Rnnell development
Usim #iia ffitcn.
h
according to a circular
being distributed in the
department, Russell Build
ing 4 is designated Navy
Building 2 by Navy Of
fice.
"In an attempt to elimi
nate, this confusion an al
phabetical system has bees
introduced for local use",
the circular says. Buildings
am ta k* mtand to u
i
Building A-M as indicated
on the attached plan of
the Russell Hill complex".
But in case the deconfu
sion confuses outsiders the
new system will apply only
within the Defence De
partment.
In contact with outside
authorities such as the
NCDC or Department of
Housing and Construction
buildings will be identified
"by means of a simple
translation arrangement,
for example Building
Afl4)", the circular
iafonn*.
