NEW BUS SERVICES

WODEN-DEAKIN-YARRALUMLA

From next MONDAY, MARCH 25, there will be several
alterations to the present bus services in the Woden Valley,

Deakin and Yarralumla areas.

Details of the new bus route proposals and a complimentary
copy of the new timetable have already been posted to
every resident in Canberra. Some of the major changes are

listed below:

On Monday morning, buses from Woden and Deakin to
City will no longer travel via National Circuit, but by the
shorter route via State Circle. Consequently, travellers to the
Barton Offices should catch the peak hour services to Rus
sell Hill or change at Hopetoun Circuit to No. 12 route
Yarralumla . Manuka . Kingston - Barton buses. Due to
road construction' on the intersection of Hopetoun Circuit
with Adelaide Avenue, passengers may find it more con
venient to catch Route No. 15 services from the Woden
Interchange, Garran, Hughes and Deakin to the Deakin
Shops, and cross the road to link up with the 12 Route
services which run at regular hourly intervals off peak.

Yarralumla residents should note that 13 Route services will
cease from Monday, being replaced with more frequent 12
Routes services extended to the Patent Office. Passengers
now catching No 13 buses in Adelaide Avenue should board
the Route 12 services in Weston Street or opposite the
Deakin shops.

Users of Route 14 buses should note that these services will
not enter Northbourne Avenue in future, but turn into
Ainslie Avenue from London Ciicuit, terminating at the War
Memorial.

A bus inspector will remain at the Woden Interchange next
week to assist bus patrons, and also to allocate buses kept
in reserve for any unforeseen demands caused by the new
services.
