Migrants
pay
old
tariffs
Most migrants living,
in the Ainslie Hotel ap-'
pear to have paid their
tariffs at the old rates
Jast- week, rather than
at the increased rates
which applied for the
first time.
They were carrying out a
decision of a meeting of
between 80 and 100 hostel
residents on January 23.

yesterday that out of 35 of
the. 51 hostel families, 15

and 20 at the old.
'Waiting' on
Parliament
Residents of the hostel
said yesterday they thought
up. to 90 per cent of fami

tariffs. ;
Later, they said, members
of the residents' committee
reminded residents of the!
decision at the meeting, and
rtiost had agreed to pay only
the old tariffs.
People who had paid at
the old' rates said 'theyI
would do so at least until;
the question of hostel tariffs
and management had beenj
raised in Parliament.
