Ciirtin plan supported
The Woden Valley
Progress Association
supports NCDC pro
posals this week to
establish three special
children's playgrounds
at Curtin.
The vice-president, Mr G.
Walsh, said yesterday that
the association's committee
believed the protests by
residents in Morgan Place
"probably arose because
residents were not fully in
formed of what type of
playground equipment was
planned."
"However, if they had
taken the trouble to consult
the NCDC prior to the ob
jections, the whole matter
need not have arisen.
- "The committee docs not
believe that the residents of
Morgan Place have any
valid objections to a child
ren's playground that would
not only benefit many young
children in that area of
Curtin, but, because of its
.siting in a cul-de-sac, would
!be quite safe from traffic
hazards.
"The acre of land in
Morgan Place does not be
long to the residents there
but, rather, is for the use of
any of the residents of the
area," Mr Walsh said.
An NCDC spokesman
said yesterday that inter
viewers had interviewed
Curtin residents during the
day.
The interviews would con
tinue next' week, he added.
