teaches us to be humane and think of others. That is why this ROSE BAY is
specially set apart by the Queen of Sport, to ask all to be sure to wear the
Emblem of the Day, and do honour to the occasion and the Patriotic cause.
Roses can be obtained from Ladies stationed in all parts of the City.

THE QUEEN OF SPORT
naring received a very generous offer from two contributors, who have already
subscribed most liberally to the Patriotic Finely, is desirous of availing herself
of it to all the Great Carnival Patriotic Appeal. To this end a Special Appeal
is made by her local Sections of the community to co-operate to assure advantage
being taken of this liberal offer.
The two contributors are prepared to give 100 towards the Patriotic Fund,
provided that 40 subscriptions of £5 each are obtained during the week ending
SATURDAY, 6th November, 1915. They further promise to give an additional

coming week!!!
TO THE PHILANTHKOPICAELY-DISPOSED PEOPLE IN ALL PARTS

Two prizes of 1911 and 106 are offered
for the best and second beat conundrums
on the "QUEEN CARNIVAL FUND."
Conundrums must be sent in to Com-
petition," Queen of Sport Committee, co
"Mercury" Office, on or before noon of
FRIDAY, November 5 next, and each
must be accompanied by ONE SHILLING,
or twelve penny stamps.
A Committee of three will be appointed
to select some of the best, and they will
arrange for a vote to be taken as one of
the Public Evening Entertainments on
November 6 or 8 at Theatre Royal.
