Rats In The
Ceiling
Sir,-Is it not time that the j
Department of the Interior
started to think about an in
crease in its staff of main
tenance inspectors in its
Housing Branch?
A week ago I had the mis
fortune to hear the noise of
rats running rife around the
ceiling of my 18-month-old
Government home. I phoned
the department and was told
that an inspector would call
as soon as possible. I am
still waiting for his visit
while the rats continue to
have high jinks in my home.
On three occasions I have
tried to contact the inspec
tors' office about this prob
lem and have been told that
the inspector for the north
side is unable to be con
tacted at most times-as was
the other one (for the south
side).
And there was nobody else
who could assist me.
I was also i told on one
occasion that the north side
inspector was so busy that
it was impossible to tell me
when he would get around to
visiting me.
Meanwhile, the rats are'
still in command and are
probably consolidating their
position.
"RATS."
