THE WHEAT SUPPLIES.
GOVERNMENT AGENTS
APPOINTED.
LONDON, November 4.
The Wheat Commission has appointed
a number of firms as Government agents
to - sell Indian, (Argentine, - Pacific,
American, and Canadian wheats. At
present the agents will only be allowed
to sell to millers either directly or
through brokers, the remuneration being
3d. per quarter. The appointment
of agents for Australian wheat has not
been discussed yet, as the quantities arriving
are so small.
LONDON, November 2.
The "Daily Mail" says the Wheat
Commission will make large purchases
in the United States and elsewhere,
and intends to issue lists of fair prices
for flour and bread, which the Commission
will be in a position to enforce
owing to its control of the sole of all
wheat.
