A SISTER'S BEREAVEMENT.
Sister Dympna, of St. John of God's Hospital,
has received the sad news of the death in a
London hospital of her brother, who was with
the forces.
Lieut. Syd. Sheen has, under date 15th instant
cabled his wife that he is leaving England for
France. Up to the time mentioned Lieut. Sheen
was on the permanent staff.
Walter Chalker and Sydney Daley, hospital
attendants, Goulburn, offered themselves for
enlistment at Victoria Barracks, Sydney, on
Monday.
Pte. James Loughry, of the 30th Battalion, son
of Inspector Loughry, of the Goulburn Loco.
Department, arrived in Melbourne on Monday
and went through by the express train to Sydney
on Tuesday morning. He has been on
active service for more than two years. He
was at the evacuation of Gallipoli, and served
in Egypt and France. He was wounded some
time back, but is now well.
Messrs. Chas. Courtly and Geo. Long joined
the A.I.F. at Goulburn Camp on Wednesday.
News has been received of the death of Gunner
H. E. Wren, aged 20, of Bega. Deceased
spent some years at Hawkesbury Agricultural
College, and was a great friend of Mr. Austin
Shepherd, of "Teneriffe'" Goulburn, who is also
on active service.
