D.C.L. Oxford, 1870; was Chancellor of Dublin University; Lord-Lieutenant since 1892; Gustos Rotuloruin, and J.P. for King's County; High Sheriff, 1867; a J.P. j for co. Tipperary, and one of the! Senate of the Royal Univeristy .of i Ireland. He was the author of j various scientific papers in the '?'Philosophical Transactions/' and in the ''Proceedings of the Royal Society.'
