The councillors of the Clarence Municipality met on Saturday last at the Police Office, Kan- garoo Point, the main business foi'consideration being tho appointment of n Council Clerk, and also of a Superintendent of Police
For the former office, there wore seventeen applications, and for the other seven. After opening all the applications Mr. Thomas wns unanimously olected Council Clerk, and Mr. Walter Bollotte Superintendent of Police, and each waa inskuoted"to enlor upon lus duties
forthwith. " ' '
Tho Wardon intimated to the Council that tho Government had placed £50 to their credit in the Bank on account of the grant in aid to which in common wjth all other Munici- palities they were entitled.
