Small, wiry, 35-year-old Her bie Screaigh, who has seen many years of football with the East Perth Club, will play his 200th game tomorrow.

A State representative, he was, in his prime, one of the cleverest rovers in the game and has retain ed much of his skill' of former years. During the war he played with a strong army side in the islands but there were few who expected: him to return to league football this season. However, he has proved, particularly last week, that although he has lost much of his speed, he is able to kick surely, is as elusive as ever, and relishes a hard game. It seems that West Perth will &e without their .captain Ross Hut chinson for several weeks yet. His injured ribs are giving him much trouble and he says that the light training he did last week did him more harm than good. ± * . * George Brown, of South Fre mantle, is the smallest player in the league but, at the same time, he is one of the pluckiest and one of his team's most reliable. . He nevt hesitates at going into crushes and has the knack of often coming out, not only uninjured, but with the ball. This left-footer ' knows how to make position as a rover and disposes well. i * * . Alderman of Subiaco and Hilsz of Perth are, without doubt, the outstanding half-backs of the year. The selection of both in the State side would be sound, although there is some contro versy as to which of them should occupy the key half-back position. * * * ? Many favour Hilsz but I consi der that this player's speed and build would enable him to give better service on the flank. Alder man's high marking — the most spectacular seen here for some years'— his long kicking and *iis size should favour him for the position, particularly as it is prob able that the. South Australian centre half-forward will be a big man. . * * a

In former Aquinas College boy, Norm Dawson, Subiaco have found a player of promise but not, it would seem, a goalsneak as they expected. Dawson is fast, an accur ate kick and leads well, but would probably be more suited in the., half-forward position. He was a prominent athlete at Aquinas seve ral years ago.
