SOCIAL. At the Masonic Hall, Nhill, on Wednesday evening, Mr. George il- i patrick was married to Miss Lizzie I Carter, Adjutant McKenzie, of Hor sham, officiating. Various officers of the Salvation Army took parb in the interesting ceremony. At St. Patrick's Church, Stawell, on Wednesday, Mr. Frank J. Derry, of Stawell, was married to Miss Mary Agnes (Polly) Chambers, only daugh ter of the late Mr. Thomas Chambers, of Ballarat, Father Howell officiating. On Wednesday Mr. B. Holden, oi Wetchupga, son of Mr. Holden, of Laen, was married to Miss Place, of Goyura East. At the Church of England, War racknabeal, on Tuesday, the Rev. T, D. lDnstan officiating, Mr. Frederick Charles Drake, son of Mlr. John Drake, of Melbourne, was married to Hiss Helen Louisa Allen, eldest dasghter of Mr. Geo. Allen, State school teacher, of Yellangip. biss Ethel Allen was bridesmaid, and Mr. D. Belcher, groomsman. The wedd ing was a quiet one, only a few friends being present. A few days since Mr. and Mrs. Lavery, of Minimay, whose sons the Messrs Bernard and Patk. Lavery are, the successful and popular Minimay graziers, celebrated their golden wed ding. Mr. and Mrs. Lavery, sen., are very old colonists, and have resided in the district 20 years. At the cele bration their health, proposed by Mr. Robertson, himself a very old resident, was drunk with enthusiasm by a large assemblage. Mr. Carracher, president of the Kowree Shire, also spoke eulo gistically of the venerable couple and their much respected family. Mr. and Mrs Lavery are, their many friends will be glad to learn, still well and active, and promise to remain with their Minimay friends for many years to come. The marriage is announced, to take
place in the Wesleyan Church,Jeparit, to-morrow of Alice Maud Laing, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs A. Laing, of Jeparit, with Mr. T. Jagger, of Pimpinio.
