GOLDEN WEDDING.
Mr and Mrs. Richard Duffield, of Yacka,
will be celebrating their golden wedding
in the Yacka Institute to-day, when nearly
two hundred guests will be received. Mr.
and Mrs. Duffield came to the district in
1873. Mr. Duffield came from Kellen, in
the County of Norfolk, England, and first
settled with his parents at Langhorne's
Creek, after which they took up the settle
ment on which the homestead now stands.
Mrs. Duffield (nee Sarah Little) is a native
of South Australia. Mr. Duffield. who has
celebrated his 80th birthday, has one
brother, Mr. Joseph Duffield, of Dulwich,
and two sisters. Mrs. John Storey, of
Cowell, and Mrs. John Badman, of Yacka,
still living. The marriage was celebrated
in the Koolunga Methodist Church by the
Rev. J. N. Mills on November 6, 1879.
Several of the guests who were present
on that occasion will be present to-day.
Five sons and four daughters are still
living, namely. Messrs. F. H. Duffield. of
Bittern, Victoria; E. W. Duffield, of Tal
dra: J. Duffield. of Hansborough: P. T.
Duffield. of Echunga; A. R. Duffield. of
Yacka: and Mrs. C. Dabinett. of Parilla:
Mrs. G. Larwood, Miss I. Duffield. and Miss
M. Duffield, of Yacka.
