"CHRISTMAS TREE. On Wednesday evening at the Church: of Christ a happy throng of juvenile and older folk welcomed Father Christ mas. Proceedings opened with hymn and prayer, followed by an interesting programme. of songs and recitations' given by the members of the Junior' Christian Endeavor to: the delight of the large gathering. A temporary gloom was cast over the proceedings upon receipt of an "urgent wireless message" from Father Christmas ask ing for an urgent relief party to be sent out to Dooen Hill where his aero. plane had broken down. Mr. A. J. Wil son called for a volunteer motorist, and Mr. Geo. Seater promptly went to the rescue and soon brought Father Christ mas and his pack, who, to the delight of all, was introduced to the company. Father Christmas was soon busy dis tributing presents off the tree, which: had been erected in a large marquee at the rearof the church, and which 'had been laden with an ample supply of gifts for all the children, as well as some personal gifts for adults. 'Mr. A. J. Wilson voiced the thanks of all to Father Christmas for his visit and his gifts, and to the strains of "He's a Jolly Good Fellow" the genial saint went. off once more on his round of happy cheer
