District, has lately purchased ol Mr, 13. M. Culling his ran in the younger colony, and one of the most . extensive there. The Peak Downs gold-fields, Queensland, is described by the same informant us being un doubtedly prosperous. About two thousasdounces of gold were in the, bands of storekeepers, -and about 300 ! men were at work, many of them ?new chums, who could not handle the tin dish with any degree of skill.
