Snakes are overrun - ; ? nins farms near Kyab-
ram as they move away from floodwaters of thc swollen Murray and Goulburn Rivers.
Farmers believe. they could suffer heavy stock losses if the snakes con- tinue to move ahead of floodwaters at the pre-
sent rate.
Mr. Andrew Thompson, of Wyuna, 12 miles from Kyabram, became so alarmed at the number of snakes on his property , that he and his sons

launched an all-out off- ensive against the, in raders yesterday.
Two of his sons were . attacked. One killed a snake which coiled around his leg.
The other shot a snake which twice struck at his gumboot.
. A fox terrier, which had a local reputation as .a snake-killer, was bitten
and killed during the
hunt.
The Thompsons killed 12 snakes in less than an . hour.
