MAD FROM THE HEAT.
Bourke, Saturday.
A man went mad here yesterday owing to the intense heat. He stole an axe and cut down three of the telegraph posts and was eventually secured by the police. The cheap excursion trains to enable residents of the interior to reach cooler climates are being largely patronised.
