WEST'S OLYMPIA. FINE AUSTRALIAN PRODUCTION^ ^Another mileetone in Australian picture production was passed when Wilfred Lucaa completed the production for E. J. Carroll of 'The Jackeroo of Coolabong.' The cast id headed by Snowy Baker, the world's most athletic actor, who performs wonder ful 'stunts.' Mr. Baker is admirably sup ported by the beautiful Australian actress Kathleen Key, alsto by Bernice Vere, Arthur Greenaway, and Arthur Tauchert, the famous 'Sentimental Bloke.' The story is based upon the adventures of a new_ -;hum, who arrives on an outback station dre^ed in the height of fashion, complete with 6pate and monocle. The station hands called him 'Dearie,' but sartorial resplendency wa6-*raly the cover ing of a dbkum man, and later deeds, not words, forced them to call him 'Sir.' This is a picture that should be seen by everv Australian, as it marks a true step onward to what should ultimately become a great industry here— the production of Australian pictures. The second attraction is a sensa tional drama by the famous writer of crime stories, E. W. Hornunp;. This is 'Dead Men Tell No Tales,' a novel that has run through many huge editions, end been read with intense . interest by millions. The production is a special Vitagraph one, with an all-star cast, headed by Catherine Cal vert, Percy Marmont, and Gustav von Sefferfitz. Some of the most brilliant of the pictures were taken at sea, far out of si?ht of land._ Moonlight on the oceanr wonder-' ful marine sunrises, and views of the sea in many moods gives an amazingly fas cinating atmosphere, which is worked into the story itself. Against the calm beauty of sunrise and sunset stremce and terrible events are portrayed, parts of a plot which never I9se3 its grip on the audience. An interesting supporting programme of Pathe Reviews and English and Australian Gazettes, with music by West's Viceregal Orchestra, complete a delightful entertain ment. ? \ ?
