NEW LIGHTHOUSES APPROVED.
By Advisory Committee. MELBOURNE, August 17. The establishment of new light houses and beacons and the Improve ment of existing lights around the Australian coast were approved by members of the Commonwealth Light house Advisory Committee to-day. The Committee decided to recom mend to the Government a new light house be constructed at Cape Ronsard (W.A.), and that a land all day bea con be erected at Euston Reef, Graf ton Passage. Queensland, to mark the passage through thp outer Barrier Reef, Bubject to satisfactory Navy Office surveys on the waters In the vicinity. The Committee also approved of the construction of a new lighthouse on Y Reef, In the vicinity of Cape York. North Queensland. Alterations to existing lights, ap proved by the Committee, include the establishment of a manned station at Eshelby Island, Queensland. In ileu or the present unattended light.
