SYDNEY, FHIDAT.

Tho City of Adelaide arrived from Auck- land this morning with the California»

mails.

Tho Cyphrenes arrived at Auckland front San Francisco on tho 14th inst, and tranBhippod her mails to the City of Ads«

laide.

At the Ascot Races to-day Leolinus won the St. James's Palace Stakes, Ecossais second, Aquilo third. Cambysos won tho New Biennial Stakes, Tipster second, Tho Colonel third. Bayard won tho Gold Cup, Doncaster and Flageolet running a dead heat for second place.

The Earl of Yarborough, who had been missing, was discovered in Jersey. Ho loft to-day for London, in cliargo of his friends and the police.
