MR. DOLPH HEINRICHS

A Widdy Known Citizen .

There are few men more widely known throughout the State than Mr. Dolph Heinrichs. A long association with the Education Department has

: ' MR.-OOLPH HEINRICHS

largely contributed towards this, but perhaps, lt ls as a sportsman that he

IS-best known. In his prime he was one of. the "West's finest footballers. He was certainly the crack performer of Wertem Australia's first interstate

s|de which visited the East in 1904, Äld lt was generally regretted when he retired from the game in 1906 at an age that was considered all too early.

He has also represented the West in interstate and international cricket, an innings of 91 not out against Mac Laren's Elevep being his best effort. Mr. Heinrichs still keeps in touch with football, and is now acting as a cric- ket umpire to the W.A.C-A. Music, however, takes up most of his leisure

time nowadays, and as hon. secretary of the Fremantle Orchestral Society, he has been' largely responsible for building up a splendid musical body

at the Port.
