TO WYNDHAM BT AIR
First lui Defiroy
Postal communication with "Wynd- ham, which had been suspended since August by the disability ot the steam- ers Koolinda and Kangaroo waa re- established temporarily by aeroplane. To relieve the congestion of malls, the postal , authorities requisitioned an aeroplane .from "West Australian Air
ways, IA/L, and. leaving: Berth on Sat- urday at ll «m, the machine reached Wyndham at 11.25 ajn. on Wednesday, thus reducing to four days the ordin- ary 10-day journey by sea, ' .?
I This waa the farthest northward journey yet accomplished by an Air- ways' 'plane, and a record time was not attempted. The trip was made by easy stages without keeping to a schedule, a landing being made at Fitzroy Cross- ing. No mishap was reported, and the fact that the malls were delivered six days earlier than usual should be a big factor in Influencing an extension ot the present aerial services.
The aeroplane left Wyndham on Thursday morning with the return
No other mall aeroplane will be sent to Wyndham for the present. The or- dinary sea service is to be resumed by the Koolinda, which will leave Perth on Wednesday.
