j REAL ESTATE

I indications of Progress

There are undoubted signs of confi- dence in the future of W.A. The I growth of Perth and suburbs is almost

dally noticeable. Among the new j buildings nearing completion are thc ! Economic Stores (£80,000). Prince of Wales Theatre, and Post Office. The Trustee Company's offices (£45,000) in St. George's-tci-raco are under way: foundations for medica] chambers in the Terrace are laid: plans are passed for large warehouses in Murray-street for Messrs. Dix and Ferguson; Mr. G. lt. Brown is calling tenders for shops in Murray-street, opposite Boans Ltd.; the Methodist Church Trustees propose erecting a college at South Perth; Mr. Coombe proposes erecting a pile of offices In Barrack-street; Mr. W. DetU ridge~ is erecting shops in Barrack

street, near Murray-street; modern | flats are going up in Mount-street; whilst there is a proposal to erect of f-ce-s in William-street, adjacent to Hay-street.

Ls it any wonder that the Bank of Adelaide is anxious to get a footing here and secured Surrey Chambers at ftO.tfOO?

The Buick motor garages and offices I in King-street have changed hands at a big figuro. during the week-end There are buyers still available, but owners of several old properties, cen- tral westwards, will not consider sell

ingrat any price._
